Often referred to as the lungs of Taipei, Da’an National Forest is a large ecological park in the middle of Taipei. The idea to create Da’an National Forest was inspired by similar endeavors such as Central Park in New York City. After its creation in 1994, Da’an National Forest became home to many species of animals including squirrels and ducks.
In addition to its function as a natural habitat, there are many areas for visitors to enjoy such as paths to walk, an amphitheater, and a skating rink. If you prefer to see more of the city, the park is surrounded by luxury apartments built for their scenic view of the park.
