When people think of College Park, what first comes to mind is a neighborhood with a lot of educational institutions and a young community. Well, that is partially true but there is much more to add: local retailers, award-winning restaurants and small business, as well as bungalow-style homes and gorgeous parks (Albert Park is the most popular one) and lakes. All of these elements create a vibrant atmosphere that not only locals enjoy but tourists as well. Take your time exploring this area, either walking or biking.
Craving any food in particular? College Park has a variety of cuisines where you will find what you are looking for. Japanese, Mexican, American- you name it! Make sure to visit Santiago's Bodega, a Spanish restaurant with delicious options ranging from Beef Tenderloin to Serrano ham tapas, accompanied by a fruity sangria. It is perfect for a date or just to hang out with friends.
Ready for a late-night? Joysticks Arcade Lounge and Retro Bar is a great place to grab a drink while you press play! It is open Tuesday to Saturday until 2 am and Sunday until midnight. References to The Goonies, Ghostbusters and Star Wars are part of the decoration of the place. Music, mostly from the 1980s is part of the background when there is no live music and karaoke nights are offered every Wednesday in case you are ready to perform!
