If you are staying in downtown Chicago, taking a stroll to Cloud Gate will not only allow you to see the sculpture itself, but you can also take in the scenery on the way from your accommodation!
The sculpture was built in 2006 and is the centerpiece of Millenium Park. It was constructed by Sir Anish Kapoor, who wanted the piece to resemble liquid mercury.
Seeing the buildings reflected in the sculpture is something you won't be soon to forget! If time allows, try passing by during both the day and at night to get unique perspectives of the art and of the city. One of the best parts about this attraction is the fact that you get to take in the city on your way to see it and it is, of course, absolutely free!
