Clark County Museum

The past never stops being relevant. By learning more about where we come from, we're better prepared for the challenges and changes of tomorrow. This is what the Clark County Museum hopes to inspire: a union of past and present for a better future.

The museum focuses on the history of Clark County, with an emphasis on early Native American inhabitants like the Paiute people. It details the effects of mining on culture, the influence of gaming, and the impact of railroads. The following video interviews museum administration to give a closer view as to why the history of Nevada is still relevant today:

The Complexity of Nevada

At this museum, the full complexity of Nevada's history is revealed. Included in museum entry is access to the Anna Roberts Parks Exhibit Hall and Heritage Street, which contains eight historic buildings for visitors to explore. A recreated ghost town is also on display. The collection of artifacts has a date range from the mid-1200s to the present. The types of objects range in content and subject matter. Examples include archeological finds, Native American basketry and beadwork, territorial history, a research library, and objects and tools used throughout time. Check out the different aspects of the museum and its wide-ranging collection in the following video:

Uniting Past and Present

The museum also hosts a wide range of events, such as History on Tap, uniting historical talks and local brews; and the First Thursday Speaker Series, a monthly talk on a variety of topics. With both permanent and changing exhibits, the Clark County Museum knows how to successfully integrate history with the present moment, making it relevant once again.
