Travel back in time, but with better food.

Welcome, Good Citizen...to this contemporary version of the traditional public house nestled in Old Town Scottsdale serving craft beers, classic cocktails, and award-winning gastropub cuisine to guests hungry for exceptional food, provocative drink, and new-fashioned fun. Outfitted with mahogany accents, leather booths, and a stainless steel topped bar, 1920s-themed Citizen Public House is sure to be the perfect hangout for the modern citizen.

Not only is local favorite Four Peaks Brewing Company’s signature Scottish ale on tap at Citizen Public House, it’s also the not-so-secret ingredient in the restaurant’s lip-smacking Kilt Lifter Fondue. But if ales aren’t your drink of choice, choose from a selection of rotating bottled brews and craft cocktails with names like Magic Hat Trick and Endless Summer.

Citizen Public House is so beloved in Scottsdale that NBC News reported on it in its local Must-Eats series

Beer and cocktails are a big deal here, but as you can tell from the Must-Eats video, the food is unforgettable. While it's true that the top floor of this historical hang was a speakeasy during Prohibition, nothing will stand in your way of trying the pork belly pastrami with brussels sprouts or the burrata with Fresno chile vinaigrette. If all that doesn't convince you to give this place a look, the definitive reason to visit would be the atmosphere. According to Zagat, Citizen Public House has, "a staff that makes you feel like you're at home," and when it opened in 2011, Esquire named it one of the best restaurants to open in the country that year. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
