Cinematheque at the Cleveland Institute of Art

The Cinematheque is the best place in town to find indie festival darlings and other films you won't find at your average mainstream theater. Located on the campus of the Cleveland Institute of Art, this unique project brings some of the greatest movies you wouldn't otherwise get to see to the Forest City. Learn all about it in this video from The News-Herald.

History

Founded in 1986, this alternative movie theater offers a diverse set of movies that touch on many genres. Oh, and if you fall in love with the place, you're in luck. For a stunningly affordable $35 a year, you can become a member and have that schedule delivered to your door once a month, not to mention getting access to discounted tickets and special members-only programming.

Described as one of the best repertory movie theaters in the country by the New York Times, this theater is a true community asset. Still curious for more information on how it ended up on the campus of an art school? Check out this video from crowT10 to get a deeper look inside the story.
