A Second Look at the Second City/Chicago's Little Europe
Choose Chicago

Choose Chicago® is the official destination marketing organization for Chicago, Illinois. When you’re in Chicago, you’re home. With the countless experiences there are to have here, you're absolutely welcome to do any and all of them.

Chicago's French Market is a whole different kind of experience than the Maxwell Street Market. The French Market is also a multicultural food market, but instead of empanadas and used clothes, the French Market sells a variety of high-quality foodstuffs and cuisine in a European style. You can find everything from meat to produce, seafood to sweets, raw to vegan, to wine and cheese. Some of the vendors are also restaurants serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The French Market has only 30 vendors, but the location is indoors, operates year-round, and is run by a company straight from Paris.

The Bensidoun family has been the largest market operator in Paris since 1953. The family runs nearly 100 open-air and indoor markets throughout the U.S. and Europe. In the summer, they also operate 11 Chicagoland outdoor markets on the weekends.

When you think of Chicago food, the images that come to mind are usually hotdogs and deep dish pizza, but Chicago has so much more to offer when it comes to what you want to eat. This city is chock-full of different ethnicities, all ready to share their culture, and hopefully, their food, with you.
