“The Insider's Guide” Of Where To Go And What To Do In Chicago
The first Home Run Inn was built in 1923 in the South Side and has grown to 9 locations throughout Chicago since then. This small family run tavern exceeds all expectations in making sure you get a great tasting slice.
The pizzas are made with the same family recipe that Mary Grittani and her son-in-law Nick Perrino developed back in 1947. The name for the restaurant was coined after a young boy in a nearby baseball field hit a home run that went through one of their windows. They take pride in the fact that they use all-natural ingredients and care greatly about the quality of their pies. Their dough is made from scratch every day and their tomatoes come from Modesto, California. They even make their sausage themselves!
You will find a wide selection of pizzas including their famous thin crust pizza. The Home Run Inn also delivers and sells frozen pies in many stores.
Home Run Inn will be sure to satisfy all of your pizza cravings and you will feel right at home in this tavern!
