This historic Spanish farmhouse turned museum, wedding and concert venue is the work of architect James Gamble Rogers II. It is also known as the "Robert Bruce Barbour House," after the original owner who commissioned its construction. Barbour had asked Rogers to build a Spanish farmhouse with complete autonomy. He said "I won't interfere, and if I don't like it when it's done, I'll sell it. I'm not going to interfere with you one bit. You just make me a beautiful Spanish farmhouse." Today, Casa Feliz offers a "mini-escape from the modern world," with perfectly restored interiors and landscaping that take visitors on a journey through time to 19th Century Spain.
Casa Feliz is open for free public visits Tuesday and Thursday from 10AM - noon, and Sunday noon - 3 PM. Trained docents are available to offer tours during this time. During the Sunday open house each week is "Music at the Casa," featuring a wide variety of acts spanning genres as diverse as jazz, bluegrass, Latin, folk and classical. The concerts are always free and open to the public. Wedding and event tours are also available outside these times by appointment.
In addition to its public offerings, Casa Feliz is also an award winning Orlando area wedding and event venue. Although it also hosts private events, many are open to the public, including Saturday evening opera performances. Check the Casa's event calendar below before your visit.
