Burrito Co. is located downtown Santa Fe just half a block off of the plaza near the Santa Fe library. Established in 1978, this restaurant has been delivering authentic Southwestern cuisine to Santa Fe for generations. This historic spot is one that locals of all ages can recall patroning throughout the years. The restaurant is known for its authentic flavors and affordable prices.
Chef Kim Castro acquired the restaurant with his family in 2006 and has since added dishes to the menu from his own El Salvadoran roots. Chef Castro has an extensive international culinary background which he has brought to the Burrito Co. cuisine. Today, you can find New Mexican cuisine along with refined Central American dishes.
The first thing to mention is the sopapillas. You can't go wrong with the sopapillas. Even if you don't get an entree and just get a couple of sopapillas, you will be satisfied. This fried dough, fluffy pillows of goodness are deliciously drowned in honey to your liking. If you don't bite off a corner and drown your sopapilla in honey, then you're doing it all wrong.
If you're looking for something a little more substantial, try the nachos, the tacos or the enchiladas. Honestly, anything you choose will be a good choice.
