Ever heard of that phrase “sometimes the hardest things to see are right in front of you”? Keep that in mind as you look for the entrance to Bordel, Chicago’s latest and sexiest speakeasy. Hidden above Black Bull on Division Street, this cocktail bar/speakeasy is all about the bohemian vibe - think red velvet, torn vintage wallpaper, slightly racy sketches and walls adorned with funky posters. Tucked above Black Bull via an unmarked door and a red stairwell, entering Bordel will have you feeling like a swanky flamenco dancer about to take the stage for a performance that will have those sitting in the nosebleeds begging for more.
If you timed the show times to your arrival well, you will be welcomed by a burlesque show, or a Flamenco dancer who will lure you in to find a table to admire their mysteriousness. We can’t really tell you more about this. You’ll have to find out the rest for yourself!
Take your friends and sit down at a booth. Let the ambiance lead your experience. Check out Bordel Chicago’s website to see what shows are scheduled for the evenings. (Hint Wednesdays are for jazz, Saturdays for Flamenco). Check out the following video by Eat Travel Rock TV featuring this Chicago speakeasy….
