Bold Missy is one of the few completely female-owned breweries in the United States, and the only one in Charlotte. Each beer is named after a bold and inspiring woman. The goal at Bold Missy is to create easy drinking non-intimidating beers that can be enjoyed without pretension. Bold Missy Brewery is the brainchild of Carol Waggener, who is a veteran of the craft beer world. Her mission to create great beer and pay homage to some amazing women in the process.
The flagship beers at Bold Missy are the Git Yer Gun Golden Ale for Annie Oakley, the Solo Flight American Brown Ale for Amelia Earhart, and the Find Your Way Wheat Ale for Diana Nyad. The fan-favorite though is definitely the Rocket Ride IPA for Sally K Ride, the first woman in space. The Rocket Ride is an American IPA with roasted caramel malts and a warm copper color, balanced with Centennial and Chinook Hops for a deep earthy flavor and aroma. Seasonals are being changed constantly, but in the past have included And You Get A Lager! for Oprah and On Pointe Hibiscus Sour for Misty Copeland.
At Bold Missy, Carol Waggener and brewer Reilly Fee have successfully created a culture of fun and lack of pretention centered around beloved beer styles.
