Rated "One of America's Top Mountain Bike Towns" by USA Today as well as a Top Ten Mountain Biking Destination in North America by Singletracks.com, Santa Fe has a trail available for any skill level. Cruise through any of the surrounding mountains trails or parklands complete with terrain on your next cycling adventure.
Named after a long-time Santa Fe resident, the Dale Ball trail system consists of 22.22 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails conveniently located near Sante Fe plaza. Although close to city limits, these trails are not easy and some not even classified as moderate.
The La Tierra Trail consists of over 25 miles hiking, biking, and horse trails as well as designated areas for BMX, ATV, and motocross vehicles. Also located within a few miles of Santa Fe Plaza, these trails are easy to moderate in skill level for both hiking and biking.
The Pajarito Mountain Trail network was created and is maintained by local volunteers. There are a variety of cross country trails which include uphill sections, downhill trails with steep drops, and freeride trails complete with man-made and natural obstacles.
The city also celebrates its biking accolades and craft beer culture during the three-day Outside Bike & Brew event. The festival features over a dozen local and national breweries as well as bike movies, beer dinners, and live concerts throughout the weekend. For anyone coming in from out of town, there are a number of rental shops in the area including Mello Velo Bicycles, The Broken Spoke, New Mexico Bike & Sport, Santa Fe Mountain Sports, Sirius Cycles, and Santa Fe REI.
