Gourmet Magazine has carefully chosen Biga on the Banks as one of the best restaurants in Texas. Owner and head chef Bruce Auden is considered by many to be the originator of high-end dining in San Antonio, and successfully delivers a five-star dining experience with a Texas twist. Opened in 2000 along the River Walk, the restaurant focuses on artistic cuisine featuring Texas beef, lamb, game meat, and seafood.
Biga’s menu changes daily; however, some of the popular dishes like the seared Hudson Valley foîe gras, eleven-spiced Hill Country venison, and sticky toffee pudding are on the menu year-round. The restaurant also offers three and four-course set menus though a reservation is highly recommended if you’re considering partaking in a tasting menu.
Ideally situated near San Antonio’s entertainment venues and downtown’s upscale hotels, Biga’s provides its guests with lovely views of a peaceful bend along the river. The interior is modern chic, creating a relaxed environment in which to enjoy Chef Auden’s award-winning New American cuisine. Over the years, Chef Auden’s creative dishes have encouraged many repeat customers from locals and tourists alike.
If you’re looking for a classy dinner out, there’s probably no better place than Biga on the Banks. Many patrons take pleasure in pairing dinner at Biga’s with a performance at the nearby theatre.
