Bar Poet

In summer 2019, owners Rob Dyer and Spencer McMahon decided to open Bar Poet after several years working together across the Toronto bar scene. Their goal was simple—create a space for folks to enjoy pizza, beer, and cocktails in a fun, laid-back atmosphere while DJs play the latest hits every night of the week.

What to Expect

One of the draws of Bar Poet is its unique ambiance. Even in the height of a cold Canadian winter, guests feel like they are drinking and partying outside. That is because the indoor bar is beautifully decorated with trees and twinkling party lights, giving an illusion that you're enjoying an outdoor patio space. This dreamy atmosphere makes it a popular hangout with locals. Be advised that on weekends the bar gets extremely busy, and no reservations are accepted. Long lines often occur after 6 p.m., and guests are required to wait outside.

The Menu

Another reason for Bar Poet's popularity is that their kitchen is open until 2 a.m every day. After a night of bar hopping, friends come here to enjoy competitively priced pizzas and appetizers at under $10 apiece.

Their creative pizza menu in the link below includes Red Pizzas, White Pizzas, and Green Pizzas. Guests with dietary needs will appreciate the available specialty options including gluten-free crusts, vegan cheeses, and vegetarian pizzas. The "Life is Gucci" pizza comes highly recommended.

The menu also features shareable dishes and snacks like garlic fingers, buttermilk chicken drums, and tiny banger burgers. The meatballs are always a fan favorite. There are daily drink specials too.

Bar Poet is open daily for lunch, dinner, and late-night eats. While there, consider checking out the Skee-ball games located upstairs and the Street Fighter video game that is hidden inside.
