This culinary brewhouse in Ravenswood gets to brag about their achievement of becoming the first brewpub to be Michelin-starred. They also pride themselves on their free-spirited nature and youthful atmosphere and, of course, their beer.
Co-founded by Michael Carroll, a Chicago native, and Craig Sindelar, Band of Bohemia not only serves house-brewed beer but also fine-dining dishes that are made to compliment your drink.
The menu boasts a large variety of options from seafood. like the Black Cod, and meat, like Braised Short Ribs. Obviously, their beer takes the main stage with classics from Indian Pale Ale to interesting creations such as the ‘Honey Fuggle Rose’. Their knowledgeable, friendly staff is there to help introduce your pallet to a new kind of beer paired with mouth-watering dishes. There is a private bar that usually has 5 beers on tap including their flagship ale, The Noble Raven Ale, which is a German and Belgian malt blend. They also sell one-liter growlers to go if you are looking to bring their beer to a party.
The brewpub definitely has a free spirit atmosphere with velvet furniture, Victorian fixtures, and jewel-colored walls. You will also feel like you are in a palace with their boasts high ceilings and stunning chandeliers. The art that lines the walls of the brewpub is made by local artist, Elizabeth Weber. The artwork has various colors and patterns that align with the bohemian culture represented through every facet of the space.
Band of Bohemia is open every day of the week except for Mondays and open at 10 AM for brunch on the weekends.
