Have you ever thought of combining mindful movement with art appreciation? Well, you can do it on the Art for Mind and Body Tour in Santa Fe. Learn how to practice mindfulness when critiquing art on this tour, where you will be guided by tour guides and a certified yoga instructor to enjoy the present moment and relax. By combining yoga and meditation with art, the Art for Mind and Body tour brings together the beauty of the artwork and the body, helping attendees to appreciate both as they visit the museums of Santa Fe.
On this unique tour, you will be taught the necessary skills to critique art using mindfulness, living in the present to fully understand the intentions of the artist and the meaning behind the artwork. You will also be guided to learn how to relax and enjoy the moment. So how exactly does it work? The tour begins by viewing artwork at two to three galleries located on Canyon Road where visitors will be given the opportunity to reflect, open conversation, and discover the work on display. Then, using the images, visitors will be taught a private yoga lesson and guided meditation led by Willamarie Moore, a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor and award-winning art educator at the Edition One photo gallery
Adults and children aged 10 years and older are eligible to participate in this walking art tour. The group size is limited to 8 participants to ensure a personalized experience. No prior yoga or art experience is necessary to enjoy this walking art tour. It is recommended that you wear loose-fitting clothing to easily move in. Yoga mats and water bottles will be provided. The tour runs for 2 hours, including 75 minutes of art viewing and 30-40 minutes of yoga and meditation.
