Built in 2010, the Cabaret-style setting remains a contemporary performance venue in Vancouver with its unconventional layout and host of unique shows. Located next door to the Orpheum on Seymour Street, this versatile venue features a simple rectangular performance space surrounded by curtains and a two-floor seating gallery with a viewing balcony. The intimate setting also provides visitors with a personalized experience.
ANNEX hosts dance, music, and comedy performances that feature up-and-coming artists. Performances by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra are also frequently hosted here, featuring a variety of independent artists, composers, and conductors. As an unconventional theatre, the design and layout of ANNEX is unlike any other theatre found in Vancouver. The versitile room does not have a stage, making it easy for all types of acts to perform each night. Additionally, ANNEX hosts up-and-coming and local acts, making it the perfect place to see entertainment unique to the city.
ANNEX's location in downtown Vancouver is also different from other theatre venues. Modern architecture and location at the corner of the city block make it seem anything but a performance venue, but rather a chic downtown space nearby local apartments, making this the perfect spot for locals to catch a week-night show.
Tickets to performances can be purchased at the box office or online. All guests, including children, must purchase a ticket to gain admittance to performances. ANNEX is open one hour before the show begins. Latecomers will be seated at intermission. Driving? An underground parking garage is also located at the venue for all visitors.
