“The Insider's Guide” Of Where To Go And What To Do In Chicago
Sometimes you need to get away and set aside some me time, and Aire Ancient Baths is one of the places in Chicago for that. Once a factory built in 1902, the building Aire is in was restored and repurposed to become a classic bathhouse, while still maintaining the industrial look that came with its original function. Among brick walls and steel beams, Aire offers a traditional ancient baths experience, which are modeled after Roman, Greek, and Ottoman baths.
Aire offers different experiences with different prices: you might want to opt for a simple tour across its differently heated thermal baths in its dim candlelit rooms or go for the package offering that adds a massage to that. They also offer more ambitious ones that include the use of oils, salts, and even wine for more ambitious rituals and experiences. The Chicago location features a bath with a waterfall and one that is half inside, half outside in the air—the contrast between the cold weather and a hot bath is an experience to try. The baths also have a strict no phones policy so that customers can simply unwind and focus on relaxing with no stressors from the outside world.
Aire Ancient Baths is not a walk-in kind of place so you do need to make a reservation beforehand but they do have sessions every hour.
