National Veterans Art Museum
Written By National Veterans Art Museum

To bridge the gap between the perception and the reality of combat, the National Veterans Art Museum offers a place where all can experience combat inspired art. NVAM provides both a physical and emotional space for veterans and civilians of all ages to come gain a new appreciation for how the split-second decisions made in combat can impact a lifetime.

The National Veterans Art Museum's exhibition Above & Beyond  features over 58,000 hand-stamped replicated dog tags representing U.S. soldiers who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.

The piece was created by veteran artists and is meant to help viewers reflect on the impact of war. This is the only memorial to Vietnam veterans outside of Washington, D.C. It will be on display for the next four years until 2020.
