Carmen Soto Vasquez was the wife of the builder of Teatro Carmen, and it is named for her. Opened in 1915, it started as a theater devoted to staging dramatic works in Spanish. It then became a movie theater, boxing arena, garage, and Elks Lodge. Today, the building is privately owned and not open to the public.

The Presidio Museum offers guided walking tours of the Turquoise Trail.
