Jackson Park In Your Pocket

Jackson Park, seven miles south of Chicago’s business and cultural heart, was designed in the last half of the 19th Century by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted and his partner, Calvin Vaux. In 1869, the newly formed South Park Commission was authorized to establish a major park on Chicago’s South Side, then the Village of Hyde Park. Explore the history and landscape that make up Jackson Park.
