Our week-long workshops cover everything you need to make a movie! Students operate the cameras, direct scenes, act and edit their own films. Weekly themes allow kids to delve deeper into specific skills. At the end of each session students will have three to five short films to share with family and friends

Times: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm We provide: Professional cameras and equipment, experienced NYC film makers, Final Cut Pro editing software, green screen, final films with online upload and submission to film festivals.
Week of 6/17 - Classic Film Camp (at Speyer Legacy). This weeklong workshop covers filmmaking from A-Z and is great for beginners as well as experienced students looking to sharpen their skills.Week of 6/24 - Classic Film Camp (at Speyer Legacy).Week of 7/1 - Summer Blockbuster (at Solomon Schecter). Start the summer off with a bang as we explore epic storytelling and grand adventure. Week of 7/8 - Lighting and Film Noir (at Solomon Schecter). Students gets hands-on experience with light kits. Master three-point lightning and learn how to use dramatic shadows to create a suspenseful scene. Week of 7/15 - Advanced Camera Work (at Solomon Schecter). Take those camera skills to the next level with crane shots, rack focus and the trickiest of them all: the dolly zoom.Week of 7/22 - Special Effects (at Solomon Schecter). Transport yourself anywhere in the world with a green screen, add lasers and explosions for added excitiment. We'll even learn how to create our own effects using techniques from masters of their craft. Week of 7/29 - Props and Models (at Solomon Schecter). Kids will gain prop fabrication knowledge and also learn how models and miniature sets are incorporated with live actors. Week of 8/5 - Foley and Sound Effects (at Solomon Schecter). What you hear is just as important as what you see. Students will record their own sound effects to bring scenes to life. Week of 8/12 - Advanced Editing (at Solomon Schecter). The perfect week for those who want to delve deep into the art of the edit, including special effects, key framing and motion graphics. Week of 8/19 - Music and Soundtracks (at Solomon Schecter).
